We will be honouring the lives of the 164 activists, defenders of the earth, who were assassinated in the global south in 2018.
With their names we represent the resistance to our region’s extractivism. To realise this action, we need the participation of 164 rebels who want to represent one of the activists on 9 October. We will lead a procession in their memory to remember their struggle and honor the lives that they dedicated to the defence of the natural world and of rural communities in our region. Each participant is encouraged to be wearing black and holding both a candle and a sign with the activist they are honouring.
